“I love seeing the moment when a student realizes, ‘Oh—I can really do this.’ My goal is to make lessons a place where they feel safe to try, get a little silly, and surprise themselves with what they can do.”
Sophia believes great lessons feel like a mix of play, practice, and purpose. She creates a welcoming space where students can explore their voices, try new ideas, and slowly stretch outside their comfort zone.
In every lesson, she focuses on:
Simple, clear technique so students know how to use their voice and body.
Joyful exploration through songs, scenes, and characters that fit each student’s personality.
Storytelling and expression—not just “getting the notes right.”
Manageable goals so students always know what to practice and can see their own progress.
Her approach: meet each student where they are, then build skills step by step until performing feels exciting instead of intimidating.
Sophia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance with a Drama minor from Carnegie Mellon University, where she trained in classical voice, musical theatre, and acting. Her conservatory background gives her a strong foundation in vocal technique, music, and stagecraft.
She has performed in a wide range of concerts, services, and special events across the United States, including weddings and memorials, and has worked with different directors, music styles, and performance settings.
In her teaching, Sophia combines:
Her formal training in voice and acting
Real-world performing experience
A calm, encouraging personality
…to help students of all ages grow in skill, confidence, and artistic expression.

Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Sophia now teaches online from New York City.
Sophia enjoys working with a wide range of students and tailors lessons to each person’s goals and personality.
She especially loves teaching:
Kids & Pre-Teens Who Love to Perform
Young students who sing around the house, quote movies, and want a fun, structured place to learn “real” skills.
Teens Preparing for Auditions & Performances
Middle and high school students getting ready for school musicals, choir solos, talent shows, or theatre auditions.
College-Age & Young Adult Performers
Students who want to keep their skills sharp, prepare for opportunities, or explore new material with guidance.
Adults Returning to the Arts
Adults who sang or acted when they were younger—or always wished they had—and are ready for a creative outlet that fits their current life.
Sophia wants students to feel great about how they sound now and also protect their voices for the future. That’s why she weaves healthy technique into every lesson without making it feel heavy or overly technical.
Students learn how to:
Use breath and posture to support their sound
Navigate different parts of their voice with comfort and ease
Match pitch more accurately and sing more in tune
Shape words and phrases so lyrics and lines are clear and expressive
Understanding a few key “how it works” ideas helps students feel more in control of their voice and acting choices—so they can relax and enjoy performing.

“I know it can feel vulnerable to sing or act in front of someone new. My job is to make lessons feel like a kind, encouraging space where you can take risks, make mistakes, and discover what your voice can really do.
Whether you’re just starting out or have been performing for years, I’d love to help you take your next step with confidence.”
